This Privacy Policy explains what personal information is collected when you visit adeelimrani.com, book a call or email me, how I use it, who it is shared with and what rights you have. I wrote it in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, email adeel@adeelimrani.com.
Who is responsible for your data
This website is run by Adeel Imrani, an independent Amazon profit strategist. In this policy, “I” and “me” mean Adeel Imrani, and I am the controller of the personal information described below. The best way to reach me about privacy is adeel@adeelimrani.com.
Information I collect
Information you give me
The site has no sign-up accounts, no comment section and no newsletter form. I receive personal information only when you choose to send it:
- Booking a call. The Book an Audit page embeds a Calendly scheduling widget. When you book, Calendly collects what you enter, typically your name, email address, time zone, the time you pick and any answers to booking questions, and shares it with me so I can run the session.
- Email and messages. If you email me or message me on LinkedIn, I receive your name, email address or profile details and whatever you write, which may include your company, role, brand, category and sales figures.
- Materials you share. If you send reports or data for an audit, I use them only to prepare and deliver that work.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC) to see which pages are visited, how visitors arrive and roughly where they are. Analytics cookies are used only if you accept them in the cookie banner. The analytics records things like pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address and a randomly generated identifier.
- Server logs. The hosting server records your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and timestamps for security and troubleshooting.
- Calculators. Some articles include interactive calculators. The numbers you type into them are used to show you a result on the page and I do not receive or store them.
How I use your information and why
If you are in the EEA or UK, data-protection law requires me to have a legal basis for each use:
- Responding to you and delivering a call or audit (booking, emails, preparing advice): taking steps at your request, and my legitimate interest in running my business.
- Understanding which content is useful and improving the site (analytics): your consent. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.
- Keeping the site secure and preventing abuse (server logs, security tools): my legitimate interest.
- Meeting legal and tax obligations: legal obligation.
I do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that has legal effects on you, and I do not sell it.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. This site uses:
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics (for example _ga and _ga_*) to tell visits apart and measure usage. These are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner.
- Performance and security cookies that the hosting, caching and security tools may set to keep the site fast and protected.
- Third-party cookies that Calendly may set on the Book an Audit page, under Calendly’s own cookie and privacy policies. The cookie banner on this site does not control Calendly.
Your cookie choice
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline analytics cookies. Until you accept, analytics storage stays denied: Google Analytics is told not to store cookies or identifiers in your browser. While storage is denied, Google tools may still receive limited, cookieless signals from your visit, such as the page address and your IP address, which Google uses for basic measurement and modeling. If you decline, that remains the case, and any Google Analytics cookies already in your browser are deleted.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, I treat it as a decline and the analytics cookies stay off unless you choose to accept them. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage for up to 12 months, and the banner then asks again. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Parts of the site may work less well if you block all cookies.
Who I share information with
I share personal information only with service providers who help me run the site and my business, and only as needed for them to do so:
- Hostinger, which hosts the website and its server logs.
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Search Console), for analytics and search performance.
- Calendly, for scheduling calls.
- My email and calendar provider, for correspondence and meetings.
I may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect my rights. I do not sell personal information and I do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. In the past 12 months I have not sold or shared personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
International transfers
These providers operate globally, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where the law requires it, transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long I keep information
- Emails, booking details and audit materials: kept while we are working together and for a reasonable period afterwards so I can answer follow-up questions, then deleted or anonymized. Records needed for tax or legal reasons are kept for as long as the law requires.
- Analytics data: kept in Google Analytics for the retention period configured in my Google Analytics account.
- Server logs: kept by the hosting provider for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information I hold about you and get a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask me to delete your information;
- restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what happened before you withdrew it;
- complain to your local data-protection authority, such as your national supervisory authority in the EEA or the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK.
California and other US states. If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information I collect, use and disclose, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (I do neither) and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. You may use an authorized agent to make a request, and I may need to verify your identity first.
To exercise any right, email adeel@adeelimrani.com. I will respond within 30 days, or within the time your local law requires.
Security
I use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS, a managed hosting environment, a web security plugin and regular backups. No website or email system is completely secure, so please do not send passwords or payment card details by email.
Children
This site is written for business owners and is not directed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent me information, email me and I will delete it.
Links to other websites
Articles and pages link to third-party sites such as Amazon, LinkedIn and industry tools. I do not control them and they have their own privacy practices, so please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy when my tools or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed, and material changes will be noted on this page.
